Cultist Nabbed For Killing Man To Avenge Brother’s Death

A 21 year old self-confessed cultist, one Morufu Liadi, who admitted to killing a 29-year-old motorcyclist, Lateef Sura, was Tuesday, paraded by the Lagos State Police Command for murder.
According to Liadi, he joined the ‘Eiye’ Cult last year and he had been actively involved in the cult’s gang fights in the area.
He said, “On that day, my colleagues came to see me at home and said we were going for a birthday party at Agbekolade Street, Mushin. I stay in the Oju Irin (railway) area. The ‘Aiye’ and the ‘Eiye’ cult gangs had a dispute in the area.
“It was my friend, Rilwan (Balogun), and others at the party who pointed the man to me that he was the killer of my elder brother. I had not met the deceased before.
“My elder brother, Azeez, also known as Arsenal, died in April 2008. He was killed by cult boys. So, I jumped on the man and began to stab him.”
Liadi said he stabbed the deceased several times on the neck and on the back using a table knife. He claimed he did not know he was deceived.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, while parading the suspects, said they would be charged to court.
