NIGERIANS, ARE WE TRUELY FREE?

This article was written to make you think deeper, after all the unexamined life is not worth living. Cast your mind back to when the Europeans first came to our land. What were their motives? They needed raw materials to boost their already growing economy. We were sweet talked into handing over our artifacts, and those they couldn’t take by sweet talking, was forcefully collected. What followed was slavery and penury.

They made us drop our beliefs, and were made to embrace theirs. Few years later, we got our independence, we beamed with joy. Finally, we are free from the hands of the white man.

Take a deep breath, think it through thoroughly, are we really free?
·
  •  2014, we drill crude oil from Nigeria, export it to be refined and buy it back.
  • ·         We crave for a stable power supply; some foreign companies are called upon to take charge.
  • ·         Finally, we fight and kill ourselves for a religion that is not ours.
Wait, don’t be in a hurry to throw stones at me. Permit me to ask you these questions?

Man and religion, which came first? Any right thinking person would say man.

If that is true, then I won’t be off the mark to say, man created religion. I would also be correct if I said, “the very essence of man is not in what he creates, but his ability to co-exist with one another, Irrespective of his or her beliefs”.

Since that fact has been established, I go further to say that, if an African, in this case a Nigerian kills his fellow man because of a foreign religion, then he or she remains a slave.
He or she is killing his brother for a religion that he can’t lay claims to

Think about it, if reverse was the case,
Can a white man kill because of our religion?

Say no to terrorism,

Say no to slavery,

Let love lead.
