Dencia In Hot Soup For Promoting Whitenicious

Cameroonian pop singer, Dencia who has been busy promoting her skincare line, Whitenicious, may have fallen afoul of the law for promoting a banned item in Nigeria.
The singer, since launching her skincare line at the beginning of the year, has been courting controversy over her endorsement of a bleaching cream for dark skinned women. Dencia has been in a verbal war with Oscar-winning actress, Lupita N’ Yongo and others, who disparaged her whitening cream.
At a lecture series this week in Lagos, the helmsman at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC), announced that the celebrity promoting a substance drug used in skin bleaching would be arrested in Nigeria for breach of law. This caused many to reflect on the issue as the DG educated entertainers on the need to live a drug-free life. Indeed many of our entertainers have toned or out rightly bleached their skin, a sin Dencia, their colleague is said to be also guilty of. Whitenicious promotes a 7-day fast acting dark spot remover, something our women will love. Take a look at our female stars, especially and a few male celebrities in Nollywood; the list is endless.
When Dencia launched Whitenicious it sold out within 24 hours. Three weeks later, sales approached 20,000 units and showed no signs of slowing down. Despite the backlash, Dencia stands behind Whitenicious and believes that she is in fact, helping women overcome an obstacle.
