NIGERIA SOME FEW YEARS BACK

Growing up, i was confined in just one state and i was bound to definitely get bored of seeing the same things all over again. So, immediately after  secondary school, i met with my parents and told them how i would love to, visit my sister at Jos, while i await my results. So as to have a feel of something different for a change.Gladly, they saw reasons with me and made preparations for me to travel the following week.
Getting to Jos from Benin, the reception was awesome. The people were very nice and friendly, the atmosphere was great, and my experience over there had remained with me even to this present day.
Back to 2014,the story would had been different.Even if i had nursed the idea of going northwards,my parents would never had agreed, for fear of the present  level of insecurity in the country..
I remember Nigeria as a very peaceful place,
A place where you do not have to travel abroad to have fun,
A place of beautiful people with a lot of dreams,
A place where irrespective of where you come from live as one...
Gradually, these memories are fading away. All we see in the news are dead bodies on the streets and properties destroyed....
Please say no to terror and let love lead.

It would b wrong to say Nigeria has always been a peaceful nation. It would be wise to note that underneath d smiles of d igbo man, he has always been at war psychologically with the hausa man since the war. The yorubas as well have for long hidden alot underneath.. Even d so called minority groups have kept alot from the visible eye all in the name of an ideology "ONE NIGERIA" which in contrast to the behavioural notions of its citizens does not exist.

Even the religious powers are not left out of the fight for supremacy. Each believes he serves the true "God" and thus criticize the religion of the other.. Question is: who knows which religion is true?

Until we put aside every form of ethnic and religious bigotry, let go of past hurys inflicted upon some ethnic groups by peple long dead, leave all grudge behind and admonish ourselves to chart a new course for nationhood, the Nigeria we see today may soon be a myth. Only to be heard as folklore by generations unborn.

We can live peacefully as one Nigeria but the question is : WILL WE ALLOW IT?
