Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission, EFCC, has joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,
in Adamawa State from the All Progressives Congress.
Ribadu, a
presidential candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in 2011
has been rumoured to join the ruling PDP but has now confirmed his exit
from the main opposition party.
A member of the executive
committee of the PDP in Bako, Ribadu’s ward in Yola South Local
Government Area, told PREMIUM TIMES that the sparse anti-corruption
chief has been registered as a member of the party.
Ribadu is expected to declare his intentions to run for the position of governor in the 11 October bye-election in the state.
