The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has suspended its over two-month old strike.
Its
President, Kayode Obembe, who disclosed the development to newsmen,
said the association’s delegates resolved to suspend the industrial
action in the interest of the ongoing public health issues in the
country.
Mr. Obembe said the delegates also resolved
among others that the Federal Government recall all suspended resident
doctors without punitive measures.
He therefore directed all Nigerian doctors to report to work on Monday.
The
Doctors had been sharply divided over whether or not to suspend the
strike in the face of outbreak of the Ebola virus in Nigeria.
